We’re Mickey and Dánielle Shaffer, and our story began in 2022 at the Boise airport. A chance conversation over a t-shirt turned into a shared flight, a seatmate connection, and soon after, a love story. Six months later, the city girl and the cowboy were married.

Mickey was already rooted in Oklahoma ranch life, surrounded by animals and building his vision for XL Bullies. Dánielle, a lifelong animal lover, embraced the move and the menagerie—mini Scottish Highland cows, mini horses and donkeys, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, and, of course, four incredible XL Bullies.

In the summer of 2023, we expanded to a 160-acre hilltop estate, a place where our passion for animals and family could flourish. From “chicken math” that grew into more than 100 birds, to the careful foundation of our bully program, every step has been part of building a life we love.

Today, Legends Bully Kennels is not only our home but our heart—a community centered on family, dedication, and a deep love for our four-legged kids. We’re excited to share this journey with you.
